What is Coolant Fluid?

A modern vehicle today can be extremely powerful. When pressing down on the accelerator, your engine naturally creates a lot of energy and heat when you are trying to accelerate. In normal situations, this heat could cause damage to the car and make it unsafe to drive. However, vehicles are protected with coolant fluid, which works with the radiator and other parts of the car to regulate the vehicle temperatures. Additionally, coolant can lubricate and protect several other parts under the hood, including your water pump.

What is a Coolant Fluid Exchange service?

Eventually, anyone that owns a Kia or other vehicle will need to have their coolant replaced. After about five years or 100,000 miles of driving, the coolant will generally start to get dirty and be less effective. When you come in for any type of service, a technician will check the coolant to see if there is a proper amount or if it is dirty. If it is time to replace the coolant, the technician will remove all of the current fluid and then put in a fresh batch. The process usually includes flushing and cleaning out the cooling system as well.

Whenever you need this service, you should always have it done as soon as you can. When you can replace your coolant on time, it can help ensure that your vehicle is always protected, and the temperature is regulated. If you delay the service, it could lead to overheating and serious mechanical challenges.
